Cantonese Journal on Emotions for Parents and Kids

 When I was at a professional development for English as Additional Language, we were encouraged to encourage the parents to keep talking with their children in their home language.  That's because once you know a concept and the word for that concept in one language, it is easier to learn that word in another language.  It activates the background knowledge for the learner.   Many students usually end up speaking English once they start school.  I think that's because they are learning all these concepts and ideas and they can now talk about it in English to describe their experience but they don't have that vocabulary in Cantonese.  There are not a lot of Cantonese books to help bridge the gap of what they are learning in elementary school to the language / vocabulary spoken at home.  I would love Cantonese resources that parents can use to help discuss what students are learning in school.
